Hyderabad cricketer Harris Sohail said he was ready to play in the Champions Trophy. Umar Akmal faced a fitness test and his replacement, the PB, was selected by the Pakistan team for the Champions Trophy. Akmal fails in early fitness tests conducted in Birmingham.
Akmal was eventually called back from England. He fired from the team after failing in the fitness test that followed. Later, the national selection committee headed by Insafamul Haq ordered Umar Amin, Sohail and Asif Zakir to appear in the National Academy of Lahore in the fitness test.
According to a report by the trainer after the PCB, Sohail was chosen to replace Umar Akmal.
The Pakistan team is currently taking special training in Birmingham, England, as part of the Champions Trophy preparations. 28-year-old made his first international debut in Zimbabwe tour in May 2015.
He was happy to return to the national team again. “I will do my utmost to win the team. Every player wants to play well on India. If I get a chance to play in the match with India, I will definitely try to play my best game, “Sohail Express told Tribune.
Harris was the 22nd ODI scorer for Pakistan, scoring four wickets with 774 runs at 82.26. Birmingham is scheduled to be held on June 4 in the Champions Trophy. The team is in Bee team. India will play against South Africa and Sri Lanka after Pakistan. Eight teams split into two groups in the Champions Trophy. England is hosting the Champions Trophy from June 1 to 18.
