One goes to the team to dream of defeating in Kolkata and returns with a broken dream. The second team has made a fabulous start in his home in Delhi. The two teams have to face the IPL 10 on Monday. The match is from 4 o’clock in the evening. That too in the summer of Delhi where the temperature has crossed 40 degrees.
The team of Kolkata Knight Riders running on top in the points table has come out of their home to Delhi. With two easy victories here, he will be confronted with a confident Delhi Daredevils.
KKR started its campaign with an easy win against the Gujarat Lions. But after this, he had to face the defeat against Mumbai Indians. The team, however, won the match against Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
On the other hand, Delhi had to face defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first match. But after that the team has won two easy victories. They would like to retain this goal.
The KKR team will also be worried by Delhi’s easy win against the Rising Pune Superjuyant and Kings XI. Delhi will have the advantage of playing on its own ground. But KKR’s team has been the most effective player in the tournament till now and it will not be easy to beat.
In the team’s victory, the Orange Cap holder and captain Gautam Gambhir have played an important role in the form of the bat. His captaincy too has been impressed too.
The team will miss the injury of Chris Lynn but the batsmen like Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan are capable of replacing any shortcomings.
Pandey has been in good form from the last three matches and in the last match, he along with Uthappa (68 runs in 39 balls) played a key role in helping the team win a 17-run win over defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pandey played 46 runs in this match. Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine and Pathan’s spin trio did not have one of the Hyderabad batsmen.
Besides the team, there are also stormy bowlers like Umesh Yadav, Chris Woakes and Trent Bolt who can demolish any batting order. On the other hand, Delhi has impressive batsmen such as Sanju Samson, Sam Billings, Rishabh Pant, Corey Anderson and Chris Maurice, the only centurion of IPL 10.
Pant made the half-century during the team’s defeat in the first match. Against Pune, Samson scored 102 while Maurice scored a 38-ball 38 in nine balls to give the team a 97-run win.
In the previous match against Kings XI Punjab, Billings scored 55 and Anderson scored an unbeaten 39, making the team 188 for eight wickets. The team then stopped Chris Maurice (three wickets for 23 runs), Shahbaz Nadeem (two wickets for 13 runs) and Pat Cummins (two wickets for 23 runs) to give Punjab a 137-run lead on nine wickets. The team will try to replicate this performance tomorrow.
