Britain one-day skipper Eoin Morgan lets it be known is a “bad dream” confronting Cumbrian all-rounder Ben Stokes. Stirs, playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in the current year’s Indian Premier League, could confront his England captain today when the Supergiants confront Kings XI Punjab (11.30am).
“It’s energizing – he is humming for it,” England’s one-day captain said in a meeting with Sky Sports.
“He’s been tingling to play in this competition for quite a long time. It’s extraordinary planning for him given that he’s in incredible shape with ball and bat.
“He’s a bad dream to play against so I don’t know what will do. Ideally we’ll play well and we’ll win.” Feeds and Morgan are two of eight England players to be required in the current year’s IPL, the tenth version of the competition.
Tymal Mills, Jason Roy, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, and wicketkeepers Sam Billings and Jos Buttler will be other England internationals included.
Morgan included: “It’s stunning in light of the fact that we’ve worked so hard, particularly in white-ball cricket throughout the most recent two years to enhance our knocking down some pins that it’s extraordinary to see the interest for folks like Tymal, Chris and Ben.”
